Presidency Denies Reports That President Tinubu Asked CBN Governor To Resign Over Free Fall Of Naira

There were earlier reports claiming that the President had asked Cardoso to resign over the steep fall of Naira.

The Presidency has debunked reports that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Yemi Cardoso, was asked to tender his resignation.

This was made known by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga.

There were earlier reports claiming that the President had asked Cardoso to resign over the steep fall of Naira.

Reacting via his X handle, Onanuga wrote;

‘’It’s all lies. President Tinubu has not asked Yemi Cardoso to resign.''
