A judge in the Borno state High court, Haruna Mshelia, has been released two months after he was kidnapped.
Mshelia was travelling with his wife, driver, and orderly along Biu-Maiduguri road when he was attacked and abducted on June 24.
His release from his abductors was announced on a WhatsApp platform of Borno lawyers.
鈥淎lhamdulillah, we have just received the news of the release of Justice Haruna Mshelia,鈥� the message reads.
The lawyers indicated that Mshelia regained his freedom, while his wife and driver are still in captivity.
Mshelia, who was previously a private lawyer, joined the Borno state judiciary in May 2012.
He was one of two high court judges selected from the state鈥檚 private legal practitioners.
